Amélie Lajoie
I really enjoy life and I want the people around me to be happy. I am lucky, my friends and family are going in the same direction! I feel that all members of the Touriscope team have in common: we take care of each other and the world around us. Some have a personal agenda, I am totally on a collective agenda.
I come from a technology background where I worked in human resources for fifteen years. At the age of 40, I started a career transition. I naturally felt the need to base my knowledge on training - a DESS in tourism development - and became interested in French-Canadian identity. I am passionate about the subject, as is the Aboriginal culture that I am striving to better understand and get to know.
My experience in technology is useful in my work at Touriscope. The world of tourism has huge challenges: talent retention and acquisition are by miles more strategic. The tech world is about going fast, always being ahead of trends, knowing how to evolve quickly and being innovative. Sounds like tourism doesn't it?
So I bring a certain amount of expertise, but I learn from my teammates with each project. We enrich each other in order to create collective added value. This encourages change as well as a way out of “usual” practices.
Easy to approach, I inspire confidence. But I have effective gentleness. When I lead a project, my team and I deliver the goods while approaching the work with humor and fun, lots of exchanges and feedback. I like to see this journey, to experience a complete adventure. As with a trip: the client needs to be accompanied and to obtain tangible results, whether they are photos, memories or the desire to leave again.
